Dancing is Here & Now

Dancing enables a sense of well-being quite unlike any other exercise.

At DANCE ADVENTURES we take pride in our students development. We offer fantastic holiday courses, performance opportunities as well as theatre trips!

HOLIDAY COURSES

DANCE TO POETRY

How to get your child excited about poetry? Through dance!

These sessions are designed to make learning poetry fun, creative and memorable.

We look at a famous poem (taken from the National Curriculum for Primary Schools) to develop a dance. The children will also be encouraged to create their own short rhyming poem. There is a short performance at the end of the course for friends and family to see all the fantastic work!

DANCE WITH SCIENCE

Whether your child likes plants or animals, or even electricity, we have it all!

These sessions are designed to make learning Science fun, creative and memorable.

We look at different topics within the Science Primary School National Curriculum to develop a dance. Then the children will be encouraged to create their own presentation based on a Science topic of their choice. There is a short performance at the end of the course for friends and family to see their fantastic work!

ART IN MOTION

This course looks closely at the famous artist Mondrian and his art work. We will develop a dance routine based on one of his paintings and each child will also be encouraged to create their own artwork inspired by Mondrian.

SOUND MOVES

Whether your child has an instrument at home or wants to make one themselves, this course gets your child to create their own music to accompany dance. We will also be looking closely at Bach and his music.

BALLET STORIES

Each week we get to know a famous ballet (The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Coppelia). We use storytelling to get to know the plot and  learn a dance to a famous song from each Ballet. The children will also get the chance to develop their own dance solo based on the narrative and learn some Ballet history.

ANNUAL PERFORMANCES

CHRISTMAS SHOW

This is when parents can invite friends and family to join us, where the children showcase their work and we have a mini celebration with food, drink and socialising!

CROUCH END FESTIVAL

Each year we create work to perform in different locations in Crouch End. In 2019, the Adult Contemporary group did a fantastic performance on the grass, in Hornsey Tower Gardens, for a family picnic event. The performance was very successful and it was lovely to be surrounded by sun, nature and a cheerful and supportive crowd.

THEATRE TRIPS

Anne Of Green Gables – Peacock Theatre – June 2020

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, the show was cancelled this year. We were all so looking forward to going! For some, it was to be their first theatre trip ever and as a group we missed out on a fantastic and memorable evening.

But the future is waiting for us and we expect to make it an annual event!
